The Savvy Photographer is giving away a fabulous Kelly Moore bag~ http://www.thesavvyphotographer.com

~and I really want to win it!!!  I’ve been wanting one of these for awhile – maybe I’ll be the lucky winner, who knows?  2010 is going pretty well so far, so I’ve got my hopes really high!

I’m in the process of gearing up for this weekend’s Bat Mitzvah ~ Hannah is so sweet and her party is at a skating rink ~ how fun is that?  I know what you’re thinking……sounds fairly dangerous!  Luckily, my friend Christelle had her birthday party at a local skating rink a couple of months ago, so I got to practice.  It had been YEARS since I had been on skates.  Now, mind you, I was pretty awesome on them in my youth.  I grew up in the 80′s, so this is what we did on the weekends in Jr. High.  And, my favorite movie of all time is Xanadu.  Yeah, I said it.   Anyway, I think this party is going to be amazing ~ I have some great ideas to try and put a whole 70′s/80′s spin on some of the shots….editing will be fun.

I’m off to run errands ~ need some new bulbs for my light kit.  The lighting in the temple is fairly horrid, so I always bring my own to get those family shots behind the Torah.  ;)   Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

Hannah’s Bat Mitzvah Portrait Session

Posted on February 1, 2010

Today I shot some portraits of a beautiful girl named Hannah for her Bat Mitzvah ~ the event is this weekend, so I had to get these edited and ordered tonight!  Whew!    We shot these here in SCV at Summit Park behind the YMCA…for those of you who have not been there, you really should check it out.  It’s kind of like a little hidden wilderness back there – a little sanctuary in the midst of suburban sprawl.  I just love it there.  I took my kids there all the time when they were itty bitty ~ when going to parks was something they looked forward to and was also just as necessary for me as it was them.  I swear, we were always going to parks!  Now, they just want to hang out with friends and play video games.  Bleh.  Oh, I never thought I’d miss those hectic days…..but I really kinda do.  ;)
