Descanso Gardens with my girls…

Posted on April 30, 2010

My daughter Avery has been a Girl Scout since she was in Kindergarten – she started as a Daisy.  I didn’t even know they started that young!  When I was young (many, MANY moons ago, I started as a Brownie…and loved my entire Girl Scout experience.   However,  I never planned on being a GS leader!  I guess you could say it just sorta happened (looong story), but I have to say it has been a truly rewarding experience for me – and for my daughter.  Having three children, and having twins especially, it’s hard finding time for each of them.  Life moves so quickly and I find it so difficult to make sure I spend enough quality time with each child, one on one…..so being her GS leader gives me that time with her.  We especially love going camping.  ;)

Last month, we took our troop to Descanso Gardens in Montrose – not far from the fabulous SCV.  It’s insanely beautiful, and we decided this would be a great place to work on our photography badge!  So, armed with cameras and snacks, we set out on an adventure.  There were so many people who passed us that day who commented that “those kids have nicer cameras than I do!)  LOL – yeah, kinda handy having me as a leader, and Victoria’s mom let her use her NEW Canon, (with my supervision).  I thought they looked so cute walking around with these massive cameras!   Wanted to post some of my favorite shots here because it was such a beautiful day….and of course, my girls are gorgeous – (just a little biased) so I had to take some photos of them!

Josh’s Bar Mitzvah ~ finally done!

Posted on April 24, 2010

I am so excited to finally have all the editing done from Josh’s Bar Mitzvah ~ I feel like I’ve been running around like a crazy person for the last month…and May is going to be just as insane.  Don’t get me wrong ~ work is good….but wow!  The ceremony was held here in Santa Clarita at Temple Beth Ami & the party was at the Valencia Country Club.  I’m always amazed at how much work goes into one of these events….and I can only imagine how relieved the parents are when it’s here ~ months of planning paying off in a wonderful event for all their family and friends to enjoy.  I love being a part of such a joyous day.  ;)
