Erica & Rob

Posted on January 13, 2011

I wasn’t really going to blog this, since I technically wasn’t the wedding photographer….but what the heck.   Erica is my *little* cousin.  I used to drag her around like a baby doll, being a few years older than her.  She was always such a good sport ;)   Now she’s all grown up and living in Washington – and married!   She’s grown into this beautiful, creative & eclectic person who shares my love for all things non-traditional.

My mother, Erica’s mother,  and two of their sisters, who together form what we affectionately call the “Ya-Ya’s” flew up to the Seattle/Tacoma area where yet another sister already lives…yeah, we have a large family.  (I must mention that there is even one MORE sister who was unable to fly in – love my big fat Southern family)   I thought it would be fun to have a girl’s weekend with my Aunts, and I’m just a hop, skip and a jump from Washington,  so off I went.  And, I welcomed the opportunity to get a little bit of a break from the mounds of work I was buried under!   I seriously wish someone could have followed us around with a video camera that weekend because really, it’s hard to sum it all up in words.  Let’s just say hilarity definitely ensued….a lot.

Here’s a few of my favorites from that weekend in October:

Marisa ~ Senior 2011

Posted on January 12, 2011

Oh the joys of living in So Cal.  We shot Marisa’s Senior Portraits on December 27th…it was a GORGEOUS day.  The week before, torrential rain.  The week after..SNOW!   Totally crazy, just like most of us living here :)

I was so happy we had such a sunny, beautiful day at the beach in Malibu for these ~ and Marisa was just a dream to work with.  Completely natural in front of the camera, totally fun and didn’t scream when I asked her to venture into the icy waters of the Pacific.  What a treat after all the rain we had to be able to play in the sun and sand and get some great shots of the stunning Marisa….I especially love the ones of her looking down and laughing – my clients either think I’m hilarious or crazy.  Whatever, it works.  lol
