Beautiful day for a Bar Mitzvah

Although I’ve been concentrating on my Senior Portrait biz for the better part of this last year, I still shoot quite a bit of mitzvahs ~ and I really do enjoy the entire experience. I’ve told the story before of how a little Catholic girl from Louisiana came to photograph Bar and Bat Mitzvahs in SoCal…..let’s just say I’ve learned so much from my Jewish friends!! The experience of a mitzvah is just beautiful. My goal is to capture the emotion, love and happiness of the day in an artistic way. Thanks to Julie Anderson of Aurora Video Creations for assisting ~ last image in the post is hers and I love it!!

WPPI ~ new friends & head shots

I decided I’d offer free head shots to two people this year at WPPI ~ I figured it would be a good way to meet new peeps and help other photographers out. So often, we find ourselves with no photos of ourselves!!
Random number generator chose Bob & Priscilla Rathbone of Rathbone Images in Seattle and Jessica Frey from Bakersfield. I’ve been a twitter friend of Jessica’s for about a year, so it was nice to finally have an excuse to meet her. 
And I was more than happy to shoot some of the adorable Rathbones together!
It was fun getting to know these guys for a little while and getting some images that they can hopefully use for their biz.
