Santa Barbara Rooftop Wedding

Posted on August 28, 2011

The most perfect sunset.  EVER.   That’s gotta be some kind of amazing “sign”, right?  To have the most perfect sunset appear on your wedding day?   Has to!

Truly honored to share a handful of my favorites from Brett and Bob’s special day ~ it was a beautiful ceremony, gorgeous backdrop and so much fun.  I was fortunate enough to shoot Brett’s daughter’s Senior Portraits last year, so I was thrilled when they asked me to capture this day….

I couldn’t do this sunset justice even if I tried…so this will have to do ;)

Beaches, Sisters, & Goodbye Summer

Posted on August 23, 2011

I’m still trying to get back in my groove since returning from a glorious three week vacation.  If I ever come up for air, I’ll edit my vacation pics and do a posting on it, but all I’ll say for now is how much I enjoyed spending long, lazy days in the sun with my family in Orange Beach.   Watching the kids play, sipping on a frosty beverage, spending quality time with my parents and my brother and sis in law and my Aunt Simone…..taking midnight walks on the beach with Andrew and having him finally understand why I love Southern waters so much….it was exactly what the doctor ordered.   Part of me might still be there ;)

I thought I’d say goodbye to summer with a sweet beach session I did back in July with the gorgeous Tuffey sisters.  Both girls were about to head off to college, so their Mom wanted to capture them together at the beach before they emptied her nest.

We shot these at El Matador Beach in Malibu – my favorite beach of all time, especially for photo shoots.    It’s not the for the faint of heart with all those steps, but worth the trek.  I like to shoot beach sessions late in the day, obviously, when the light is lower and El Matador is perfect also because of it’s many rocky formations, as well as the park like setting at the top of the cliffs…..so many options in one area.  Every time I’m there I see at least two to three other photo sessions happening.

Jami did beautiful work with their makeup, and the girls really picked out some super cute outfits!  Having this much beauty in one family is kinda not fair!
